Robert J. Dimeff, MD joined Texas Orthopaedic Associates in January 2018 as a specialist in non-operative orthopedics and regenerative medicine. From 2009 to 2018, he was the Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he was a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatrics, and Family & Community Medicine. He is currently Team Physician for the NHL Dallas Stars, consultant physician to the World Olympic Gymnastic Academy, Medical Director of the Dallas Rock-n-Roll ½ Marathon, and member of the US Anti-doping Review Board.

From 1990 to 2009, Dr. Dimeff was the Medical Director of Sports Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Director at the Cleveland Clinic. During his tenure in Cleveland, he served as team physician for the NFL Cleveland Browns, NBA Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Barons Hockey team, Cleveland State University, Lakewood Figure Skating Club, and Shaker Heights High School.

Dr. Dimeff graduated in 1985 from Kent State University and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, where he received the 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Rush Medical Center in Chicago and his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified in Family Practice with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is past President and a Charter Member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and remains actively involved.

Dr. Dimeff has authored over 40 articles and book chapters. He has organized and lectured at numerous regional, national and international medical conferences. He has been recognized as one of America’s Top Doctors for Sports Medicine by US News and World Report annually since 2003.

He has been married to his wife, Joanne, since 1986. They have two daughters, Brittany and Alexandra, residing in Los Angeles and New Orleans, respectively.
