Dr. Maria Turnage is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a specialty dedicated to the nonsurgical treatment of various orthopedic and neurological disorders.
Since completing her residency at the prestigious Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago in 1994, Dr. Turnage has practiced in both academic and private practice settings.
She practiced in Atlanta, GA for 12 years before relocating back to Texas and joining Texas Orthopaedic Associates in 2006. While serving as Assistant Clinical Professor at Emory University, Dr. Turnage’s residents twice bestowed her the Teacher of the Year Award.
Dr. Turnage has a special clinical interest in the nonoperative treatment of neck and back pain and electrodiagnostic studies used to diagnose various nerve injuries.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Turnage enjoys working out, tennis, gardening and occasional cooking.
